We are very proud to introduce you to our Farm Shop team members:
Simon Knight
Simon has lived on Court Farm all his life and always knew he wanted to be a farmer, just like his Dad (Ray), Granddad (Fred) and Great Uncle (John). He even became the youngest account holder with Oldacres (animal feeds) at the age of six so he could have his own hens & pet lambs! Since then he has worked hard to grow his business, increasing his hen flock from 100 to 1000.
When Simon left school in 2000 he started with 140 sheep to rear and breed from alongside his hens. This year has seen his 14th lambing season and he now has close to 400 sheep producing 700 lambs. He has also started rearing pigs so we have our very own pork ready to sell in our new farm shop towards the end of the year.
Simon is very dedicated and has a great understanding of his animals which shows in his quality of produce. Visit our Farm Shop and try some of our beautifully fresh, free range eggs to see for yourself!
Lisa Knight
Lisa is relatively new to farming life. Although it is also in her family, her initiation into country ways and farming began when she met Simon in 2012. How they met is another story. One which will get told a few times no doubt!
With a background in operations management, logistics & customer service, Lisa got stuck into planning and preparing for the new farm shop and is over the moon with it’s on going success. The project is something Simon & Lisa both feel enthusiastic about and believe the balance of their joint experience and entrepreneurial natures will go towards making their new venture a success.
Helen Whitman
Helen helped Lisa & Simon to prepare for the opening of their new farm shop as well as lending a welcome hand with collecting & sorting eggs. She is now working full time in the Farm Shop
With impressive experience in Customer Service and Warehouse Management she is a key member of the farm shop team.
Helen has now retired but don’t worry as she will be back! You will be able to see her again In October ’17 while Lisa & Simon enjoy their Honeymoon
